The following is from a customer who is closing on their new home this week.
"Following foreclosure and bankruptcy in 2008, I dared not dream that we might be homeowners again in our lifetimes. Last December I started watching housing market sites for rentals in Titusville since that is where my husband, Jimmie Lee Henry, works and moving there would reduce gasoline and travel expenses for us. While looking at these sites one day an advertisement popped up asking…… “Are you eligible for a VA loan?” Well, my husband did a stint in the Army and additional years with the Army National Guard so I figured that it couldn’t hurt to check it out. It was quite a surprise to find out that he WAS eligible for a VA loan and no down payment. The next hurdles for us were to find out if we could actually buy a house with very little to no money saved and with our financial history and could we find a realtor and mortgage company that would be willing to consider working with our broke selves!!! That next week my ex-sister-in-law, Pam Kerchner, posted on Facebook that she had just bought a home and that her realtor, JoAnn Young with My Florida Dream Home - JoAnn Young- was awesome and that she was highly recommending anyone who was interested in home buying to contact her. I wrote down the information even though I expected any experienced realtor to just laugh at us about inquiring into buying a home with so little money. I was also not wanting to feel rejected. I waited several more weeks before getting the nerve to call…….. but I am here to tell you that I will forever be indebted to JoAnn Young who is not only a realtor but also has a mortgage business, for her guidance, her patience, her knowledge, her 20 yrs of experience and most importantly her kindness, her prayers, her heart, her always having our backs and willingness to fight for our best deal and for our deadlines. I have lost count of how many times my emotions took over and I was ready to give up and JoAnn was able to encourage me and bring the calm needed back into my world. I hope that if you are in the home buying market that you have taken the time to read this long post, because I don’t believe that you can find anyone better in Brevard County to help you find and buy your dream home. I am so grateful to Pam for her recommendation and I want to make the process easier for anyone else out there that is considering buying a home. We close on the perfect home for us and with a brand new heating and cooling system (JoAnn’s suggestion to ask the seller for this!!!! on Monday. We are feeling more than grateful. We have not only made a new business connection, we have made a very special and trusted friendship for life."
