How Do I Increase the Value of My Property?

The biggest factor that can affect property value is market conditions, which are outside of your control. But other factors such as condition of the property, certain home improvements, neighborhood stability and safety are not. Some home improvements can increase your property value such as remodeling a kitchen or bathroom.  The kitchen in your home is a critical selling point. Modern bathrooms are also a big asset.
Upgrading your landscaping to add curb appeal is also an increaser.  A good first appearance on a home can add as much as 5 percent to 10 percent to the value of the home.  You don't have to spend a fortune on plants, either. Just keep it typical with the neighborhood.
Keep your home well-maintained.  Don't let items of repair go undone.
It helps to live in an area where other homeowners are upgrading their homes. Just remember, if you over-improve for the neighborhood, you may not necessarily recover your costs or boost your value significantly.
